About Me Hello my name is Nicola Parkes, I live in the Rise Park area of Nottingham. I am an Early Years Provider, Childcare Practitioner. I am a 35 years old mum with two children of my own aged 10 years and 3 years. My children have attended nursery/childcare provisions, therefore, I have an understanding and appreciation of the expectations that parents require for their children when being looked after by a childminder. I currently access Rise Park primary and Nursery school. I am:- Registered with Ofsted Fully insured – Public Liability insurance Suitably qualified: 10 years childcare experience Have high standards of provision Member of the N.C.M.A (National Child Minding Association) I provide a safe and secure environment Offer full and part time care Children from birth to 16 years of age I live with my husband Chris, have two children a girl of 9 years and a boy of 2 years I live in a spacious detached house Have a secure garden – fenced on all sides with a padlocked side gate Large, spacious, sunny playroom (separate) Large open plan kitchen diner An extensive range of indoor and outdoor toys and play equipment My Aims I aim to set the standards for learning, development and care for children by:- Meeting the individual needs of all children Ensuring competent learners Independent and secure children Provide an enabling environment Therefore, supporting and extending children's development and learning. I believe that play underpins all development and learning, helping children develop intellectually, creatively, physically, socially and emotionally. I will deliver well planned experiences and personalised learning to help your children to get the best possible start in life. I aim to meet the individual needs of all children and families in my warm and caring setting. Relevant Qualifications CACHE level 2 Certificate for Teaching Assistants NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant Introduction to Childminding Practice Safeguarding Children First Aid I am currently working towards:- Level 3 Diploma in Home Based Childcare. I plan to undertake further professional development courses as and when the opportunity arises. Having worked in mainstream education and S.E.N. (special educational needs) I have a good all round knowledge of children's individual needs, levels of understandings and capabilities. I am a keen learner and continue to enjoy education as well as teaching others. I wish to develop my knowledge and understanding further through further education and experience. Working in Partnership with Parents I aim to work in partnership with parents to meet the needs of the children I will come to you with any problems or issues that may arise I have an open door policy and you may drop in at any time to see your child I will keep parents up to date on my routines and childcare practice I will complete a diary/report of your child's day.
